1. What is QRILL™?
QRILL™ is the Aker BioMarine name for a range of products derived from Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba). Antarctic krill is a small crustacean with a high nutritional value. QRILL™ products, QRILL™ Antarctic krill meal and QRILL™ Phospholipid Oil oil and QRILL™ Astaxanthin Oil, are used as ingredients in feeds for aquaculture, livestock farming and in pet food.
QRILL™ Antarctic krill meal has a high amount of phospholipids, omega-3 fatty acids of marine origin, astaxanthin and protein. QRILL™ oil contains higher concentrations of phospholipids, is rich in astaxanthin and in the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. These are all nutrients known to be important for good animal nutrition and health.


2. What are the major benefits with QRILL™?
QRILL™ provides key nutrients for aquaculture, pet food and livestock animals. QRILL™ increases growth, reduces feed conversion ratios and improves feed intake.

3. How is QRILL™ made?

Once harvested, krill is further processed immediately on board the vessel to assure a high quality of the product.

The high-value QRILL™ oil is extracted from the krill meal using an advanced process.

4. When should I use QRILL™ for my fish and shrimp?
We recommend using QRILL™ Antarctic krill Meal in problem periods: low feed intake, environmental changes, diseases, molting in shrimp, transfer in salmon etc. The nutrients in QRILL™ help maintain growth, fitness and performance.

5. What species would benefit from QRILL™?
Today QRILL™ is used for several major aquaculture species worldwide, such as salmonids, marine fish and shrimp. Companion animals such as dogs, cats and horses also benefit from QRILL™ nutrients..

6. Can I use QRILL™ Astaxanthin oil, QRILL™ Phospholipid oil and QRILL™ Antarctic krill meal for my animals?
The answer is yes. The two QRILL™ oil products and QRILL™ Antarctic krill meal have different properties and we recommend that they are used in different applications during a lifecycle. For more information on use recommendations for different species look under products.
