Excellent nutrition
QRILL™ contains a range of excellent nutrients including phospholipids, omega-3 fatty acids, amino acids and components that act as feeding attractants and enhance palatability.
PHOSPHOLIPIDS AND OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS
QRILL™ is rich in lipids, and especially in phospholipids that are bound to the health-promoting long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs); specifically the omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA). Omega-3 fatty acids from marine sources have well documented health benefits in animals and humans.
Phospholipids themselves are essential components of cell membranes and are critical to many cellular functions. QRILL™ contains large amounts of both DHA and EPA and 55 % of the omega-3 fatty acids in QRILL™ are incorporated into the phospholipids.
ASTAXANTHIN
Astaxanthin has many functions, as well as being an effective pigment when used in certain fish feeds. It is the precursor of vitamin A and retinoic acid, a highly effective natural antioxidant, affects the endocrine system and increases resistance to stress. Antioxidants are important in limiting cellular reduction and to fight the effect of free radicals. Astaxanthin in QRILL™ is natural, is predominantly in ester form and is highly digestible. The astaxanthin level in QRILL™ is 110ppm (meal) –1200 ppm (Astaxanthin oil) depending on application and customer requirements.
PROTEIN
QRILL™ has an excellent profile of essential amino acids. In addition to providing key nutrients for growth, this combination of amino acids significantly improves the attractiveness of products containing QRILL™, encouraging feeding and growth.
