R&D Pet

Krill are small shrimp-like crustaceans that constitute one of the most abundant sources of marine nutrients. They live, breed and feed in cold, dark ocean waters and are mostly found in huge swarms which can extend over 450 square kilometers and weigh up to two million tonnes. Euphasia superba is the most frequent species of krill in the Southern Ocean. To protect the long-term future of krill, the Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) restricts annual krill fishing to about 1% of the total population.
