Long experience in logistics and operating in extreme conditions enables Aker BioMarine to deliver high quality krill products in all major markets.

Krill is harvested in Antarctica and immediately processed on board Aker BioMarine‘s factory vessels. The QRILL™ meal is promptly transported to our worldwide customers through our HUB in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Committed to krill fishery

Aker BioMarine, the world’s largest harvester of Antarctic krill, has added another vessel to its fleet. This will help ensure that the company can meet the growing demand for both Qrill™ and Superba™ krill products.
Krill fishing vessel Thorshøvdi was bought by Aker BioMarine from Norway’s Krillsea Group AS. It has been renamed Antarctic Sea and will undergo an intensive renovation before heading south to Antarctic seas next season.
Like all the other ships in its krill fleet, Antarctic Sea will be outfitted with Aker BioMarine’s proprietary technology with patents pending Eco Harvesting technology. This allows krill to be sustainably harvested with no by- catch of marine mammals, seabirds or unwanted fish.
